- 40 hours (first renewal)First renewal: issued February–June of an odd year → 36 hours; issued July–January of an odd year → 30 hours; issued February–June of an even year → 24 hours; issued July–January of an even year → 0 hours; otherwise 40 hours.Initial period: 36 hours if issued before July 1 of an odd year; 30 hours if issued Jul of an odd year–Jan of an even year; 24 hours if Feb–Jun of an even year; none if Jul of an even year–Jan of an odd year. Six ethics hours still apply whenever CE is due (§ 7.1.3.4–7.1.3.5).
Two calendar years from February 1; cycles end January 31 of odd years.

Limits
- Self-directed activity (teaching, research, writing, field instruction, clinical staffings): at most 10 hoursBooks or first course preparation ≤10, articles ≤5, field instruction ≤2, staffings ≤5. Online courses are not limited.
