Hours that must be included
- Attended with an instructor available for immediate interaction (in person or live online): 15 hoursSeminars, workshops, institutes, academic courses and in-service sessions with immediate interaction (ch. 14 § 3(1)).
- Social work ethics: 4 hours
- Anti-discrimination / anti-oppression: 1 hourApplies to renewal periods after September 28, 2023.
One-time and recurring courses
- Family or intimate partner violence: 12 hours, one timeOne-time 12 hours (32 M.R.S. §7060).
Limits
- Self-study / non-interactive hours (self-study): at most 10 hoursUp to 10 of the 25 hours combined from non-interactive distance learning, teaching, writing and independent study (Chapter 14).
- Teaching, writing and independent study: at most 10 hoursShares the 10-hour limit with non-interactive distance learning.
