Total hours

Renewed licenses run November 1 to October 31 of the second year.
Hours that must be included
- Ethics and professional conduct, including boundaries: 3 hours
- Anti-oppressive social work practice (Category I): 3 hours
Limits
- Online / distance hours (live online or self-study): at most 20 hoursCategory II, which includes online learning, webinars, distance learning and home study, is capped at 20 units; at least 20 must be Category I (in-person courses, workshops, seminars, conferences).
- Category II activities (peer case conferences, presenting, authoring, teaching, in-service): at most 20 hoursPresenting, authoring and teaching are each capped at 12 units; shares the 20-unit Category II limit with online learning.

- Board-approved supervisors: 3 hours in supervisionOnly if you hold supervisor status.
