Hours that must be included
- Ethics, standards of practice or Virginia law: 2 hours
Limits
- Publications (writing or publishing): at most 18 hoursArticles ≤8, books ≤18.
- Presentations, program development, leadership, practice-related programs: at most 8 hoursEach ≤8 hours; the same presentation counts once in two years.
- Clinical supervision received (supervision or consultation received, supervising others, peer consultation group): at most 10 hours
- Volunteer service to low-income individuals (1 hour per 3 hours): at most 2 hours
If you hold two licenses from this board
One course counts toward each license it fits. Those dually licensed by the Board are not required to obtain continuing competency for each license (18VAC115-20-105, 18VAC115-50-95).
