Total hours
- 40 hours (after the first renewal)
- 40 hours (first renewal)First renewal: under 12 months licensed → 20 hours; under 18 months licensed → 30 hours; otherwise 40 hours.First renewal: 20 hours if licensed under 12 months of the period, 30 hours if 12–18 months, 40 hours if 18 months or more (12 AAC 62.310).
Hours that must be included
- Professional ethics: 3 hours
- Suicidality: 3 hours
- Cultural competency: 3 hours
- Live or interactive hours (in person or live online): 20 hoursAt least 20 hours must be synchronous courses, seminars or workshops.
Limits
- Self-study / non-interactive hours (self-study): at most 20 hoursNo more than half the hours may be individual study.
